Happy New Year! Already 2009... man, what happened to '08? Couldn't make it afterall to the Furry Ball. As while I was felt just about better between the bug and something else unknown that kicked the living shit out of me, what I experianced was something I wouldn't wish upon anyone and then feel responsible infecting others with it. Frank gave it to my entire family over last weekend, and we're all not happy with him, to say the least. What's my resolution this year? - To honor last year's resolution, and to change my life around. Current Mood: |

Pretty cool though. Stole this from Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test... HFPS - The HumanitarianHumanity, Foreground, Big Picture, and Shape
You perceive the world with particular attention to humanity. You focus on what's in front of you (the foreground) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the shapes around you. Because of the value you place on humanity, you tend to seek out other people and get energized by being around others. You like to deal directly with whatever comes your way without dealing with speculating possibilities or outcomes you can't control. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You prefer a structured environment within which to live and you like things to be predictable.

This boar did not get a good night's sleep. Think gotten waken up at least three times throughout the night, the furst two times by my cats. Both Tiger and Marm were on the window sil in teh bedroom, and for some reason unknown (nor have I seen before)... they were playing leap frog with each other and messing up the certains. Some other noise next door woke me later. The alarm finally goes off a little later, and found myself sleeping a position where my left leg went totally numb. Coffee sounds really good today. I think I must have told this one to a good few by now, but here goes. In fact, I'll go as far in depth as how I became a furry with the name. The name Tharg Bloodaxe is one that I came up with nine years ago. Back where I used to live in Croydon, I had a neighbor named Noland who was very big into both Warhammer and M:TG (he was also a sanctioned judge, too). He eventually after meeting the entire bunch of my circle of friends, began to run events in the area for both. On the former, I created an Orc warband, and eventually came to name the orc warboss that I spent well over three hours painting this limited edition black orc model... Tharg Bloodaxe. Had a blast with that game, and used him when Games Workshop came out with the RPG-like Mordheim and played a league of that over the whole summer. From there, by the time I was a Junior in high school, I eventually decided to make a homebrewed D&D campaign from scratch, creating maps of a good portion of a world I thought up and which my friends played. I actually used Tharg as an NPC in my world, and fleshed out his whole character background and family history. It's actually kind of funny, really... dispite that I became a big fan of orcs from both Warhammer and D&D, I always saw and felt them from a different perspective. In that no race is truly inherently evil, and there is more to the eye than a bunch of mindless killing berserkers. It's a viewpoint similar to what I saw when Warcraft makes years later, and made them more mainstream to people. It was also around this time I gotten my first computer, with internet access (oh boy... remember those 56k modems back then?). When I first began to explore around, I looked into the PlayOnline site and its community. Again, I felt compelled, and decided among all the different possibilities I could have used for my online persona... and went along with using Tharg again. It was there it happened, and every community I was part of later online. Wheter it was POL, FFL, Triple Triad X, AIM/MSN/Yahoo IMs, etcetra... I would always to some extent roleplay out Tharg at various times with everyone I communicated with. While a good few were weirded out by this, at the same time there were a good amount that liked what I brought to their communities and made a good share of friends from each one. Fast foreward to three years ago. I moved out of Croydon, and into a house in Colmar. Lost touch of a good few of my original circle of friends from high school due in part to it. The second job I picked up (in Oct '06), ended up being the very one I encountered Celsius. From there, while he gradually letted me into his personal life, it was when I first was invited to come with him to a couple of Lupine's meets (in Nov '07) where I finally came to the conclusion that in my own way, I've always been a furry... but from a different angle. For it to be fitting, I decided not to change the name of my persona as I've had it for too long, but instead transition him to become a Boar anthro. Which, interestingly enough, is also what I am on the Chinese zodiac. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pig_%28zod I'd love to hear everyone else's stories behind their names, and how they came to use them. Just throwing this out there, as a thought that I may follow through on. If I were to set up a campaign for D&D, would anyone be interested in playing? I would be capable of running sessions basically anytime after 6 pm on any day of the week, barring Saturdays (as I don't want to overlap on already existing events). Sunday, I'm usually free the whole day. When reponding, please note what days you would be available and I'll work from there. Tags: d&d Current Mood: |

Small request. Does anyone happen to know anyone who is capable of making decent sprite art? It would be awesome if someone would be willing to create a set of boar themed smilies for my moods. Foxes have it easy. :P Current Mood: |

...just thought I'd throw that pun out now. It's pretty old and uninspiring now. :P I'm really bad at introductions in general, both written or socially. To start, I didn't really ever thought I'd create an account for a blog. But its sometimes amazing how life shifts perspective with passing time. How, in retrospect... working at the Dairy Queen from across the street where I live over a year and a half ago would eventually have me encounter by chance someone who happens to know the entire circle of friends I knew back in high school, an hour away from where I originally lived. And through chance and circumstances, that co-worker eventually revealing to me personal areas of his life he could have remained secret the whole time but felt inclined to trust me enough instead. By doing so from last November, I was introduced to so many new faces, re-introduced to old ones, and exposed to a fandom that deep down I didn't realized I kind of was one all along from a different angle. Of course as many would gather, that is all thanks to Celsius. Thank you for making that exception to incorporate a piece of your personal life with a co-worker. That said, within this last month I've experienced so many 'firsts'. Attending AC was the first con I ever went to, period. Had a blast overall aside from a few disappointments here and there that I witnessed, which have already resolved for the most part by now in this point in time. Some were learning experiences, and know to try avoid them for the next time I attend... and believe me, I'm hyped to see next year's AC as well as FurFright. Again, saw so many new faces and acquaintances I hope to encounter again, as I kept with me at all times a pocket sized green notebook to record everything and everyone I witnessed(which, at the end of the con right before leaving, became lost... figures). That, and a disposable camera I brought around throughout the con. I should hopefully get the developed photos soon, and will reveal them when I have the chance. The Artist's Alley/Dealer's Room being initially overwhelming in volume, I was surprised by the few unearthed gems here and there. First one right off the bat was a boar plushy at the dealer in the far corner of the huge convention room, only had two in stock when I bought it on the first day. There was also my encounter with Susan Van Camp, and the lone piece of artwork I bought from her with a unique signing she made after I had a cool conversation with her. Then came the badge I commissioned from Pandy. In everything I laid out for what I was looking for... he exceeding all my expectations and the badge itself became a centerpiece of conversation by random people as I walked around with it on for the rest of the con. That, and the fact that I am indeed a Boar furry. Heh heh heh. After the con, came more 'firsts'... which, I'd rather leave to the imagination for now. ;) I'll still need to continue working on building my profile, and getting my scanner to work again.
